WHO I AM

I am Dr. Jake Garner, after years of hard work and study, I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2014. Originally from Nottingham, I came back to the area to start my career. Dentistry has taken me all over the world for training and practice, having volunteered in both Nepal and Ecuador. It is very much my passion and I feel privileged to be able to work with my patients everyday to improve their smiles. I am fortunate to work across two amazing dental practices in Littleover and Ashbourne and serve patients across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

I have an obsessive desire for knowledge and regularly attended courses in all aspects of dentistry. I take significant pride in my work and try to attain the highest standards possible. I always work under magnification and have access to an operating microscope. Not many people can say their dentist works on them using a microscope!

Two years ago, I embarked upon a Masters programme in Endodontics which I am due to complete next year. While this has vastly improved my knowledge of root canal treatment, it has helped to improve all aspects of my dentistry from trying to prevent the need for treatment to the final restoration of the tooth.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy all aspects of fitness and sports. I am an avid fan of basketball, watching almost daily. I also enjoy food and enjoy being in the kitchen. More recently, when I have time I have been learning to play the piano and to speak Spanish.
